Well, today I bid a fond farewell to my 20s. I guess it doesn't feel too much different being 30 than it felt being 29, but it's still one of those ages that sounds old to you when you're a kid. Plus, my dad, who normally doesn't let too much get to him, told me that though it didn't really faze him turning 40 or even 50, turning 30 really hit him hard. Thanks for that moral support, Dad. Plus, well, he has mentioned that as depressing as it might be for me, it's more depressing for him to realize that he now has a kid who's 30. To round the whole day out, the weather here is quite yucky -- hot, humid, and strong thunderstorms all day today. Yes, that God certainly does have a funny sense of humor about him.
As my Grandpa Lee always says, though, getting another year older certainly does beat the alternative.
