Okay, so don't ever let anyone tell you it's easy to clean a cat's ears. My cat Tanya is prone to excessive ear wax, so the vet gave me some stuff to help. You simply squirt this stuff in the ear canal, massage the ear a little, let the kitty shake her head, and dry the excess up with a cotton ball. That is, in the bizarro world that doesn't exist, where such things are simple. In the real world, you have to grab the cat, who is sweet and friendly, but very shy and doesn't like to be held much, then hold her still while your girlfriend squirts the stuff in the cat's ear. Tanya, who clearly didn't read the directions first, began shaking her head the instant the first molecule of the stuff hit her ear, without waiting for me to massage first. This, of course, caused a big mess. Tanya, who realized she wasn't getting away, froze in fear, with this heartbreakingly terrified look on her face, hunched as small as possible, waiting for her chance to escape. I learned to hold her head still this time, and manged to get through it, with Tanya looking more and more terrified, and drenched in ear cleaning liquid. Finally, I let her run away, and she's hiding under the table, clearly not pleased with me.
